Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about Vale, answered.

General

Vale is a yield aggregation protocol on Base. It simplifies earning yield on stablecoins by routing your deposits to curated, audited lending vaults. You deposit USDC, and Vale handles the rest.
Vale allocates your deposits to lending vaults (currently Morpho vaults on Base). These vaults lend your USDC to borrowers, who pay interest. That interest becomes your yield.
No. Vale is fully non-custodial. You maintain control of your assets at all times. Your deposits are represented by vault shares held in your own wallet. Vale cannot move, freeze, or access your funds.
Vale is currently deployed on Base, an Ethereum Layer 2 network. Future expansion to additional chains is on the roadmap.
Currently, Vale supports USDC on Base. Additional assets may be supported in the future.

Deposits & Withdrawals

No. You can withdraw your funds at any time with no penalties, minimum holding periods, or lock-ups. Your assets remain fully liquid.
Vale charges a 0.1% fee on deposits and a 0.1% fee on withdrawals. There are no management fees, performance fees, or hidden charges.
No minimum deposit. You can start earning yield with any amount of USDC.
Deposits are processed in a single blockchain transaction. On Base, this typically takes a few seconds.
Withdrawals are also processed in a single transaction and typically complete in seconds on Base.

Yield & Returns

Yields are variable and depend on market conditions, specifically the supply and demand for borrowing. Vale displays current APY in the app. Past yields do not guarantee future returns.
Yield accrues continuously. Your vault share balance appreciates in value as the underlying vault earns interest.
No. DeFi yields are inherently variable. Rates fluctuate based on market conditions. Vale does not guarantee any specific return.
Yield comes from interest paid by borrowers. The lending vaults Vale routes to allow borrowers to take overcollateralized loans. The interest they pay becomes yield for lenders (you).

Security

Your funds are deposited into audited smart contracts on Base. Vale is non-custodial, meaning you maintain full control of your assets at all times. However, all DeFi protocols carry smart contract risk.
Vale uses audited infrastructure. The underlying Morpho protocol has undergone multiple security audits. Vale’s router contract is designed for simplicity and minimal attack surface.
Smart contract risk exists in all DeFi protocols. Vale mitigates this by only routing to established, audited protocols and using simple contract designs. However, no protocol can guarantee 100% safety.
No. Vale’s contracts have no admin functions that can move user funds. Your vault shares are held in your wallet, and only you can initiate withdrawals.

Vale Points

You earn 1 point per $1 deposited per day. Points accumulate as long as you have funds deposited. Points are recorded on-chain using the Ethereum Attestation Service (EAS).
Immediately after your deposit is confirmed on-chain.
No. You keep all points you’ve earned. Withdrawing only reduces your future earning rate.
Points will unlock exclusive benefits in the Vale ecosystem, including conversion to $VALE tokens at launch. More details coming soon.
All points are recorded on-chain using EAS attestations. This provides cryptographic proof of your participation that anyone can verify.

$VALE Token

$VALE is the governance and utility token of Vale. It provides priority pool access, governance rights, and participation in community rewards.
The token launch date has not been announced. Follow official channels for updates.
Yes. Vale Points will convert to $VALE tokens at launch. The conversion rate will be announced before the token generation event.
$VALE has not launched yet. Be wary of scams claiming to sell Vale tokens before the official launch.

Technical

Vale supports any wallet compatible with Base/Ethereum, including MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet, Rainbow, and hardware wallets like Ledger.
Morpho is a lending protocol that Vale uses for yield generation. Morpho optimizes capital efficiency and works with curated vault strategies managed by institutional curators.
Yes. Since you hold vault shares in your wallet, you can interact with the underlying Morpho vaults directly if desired. However, the Vale interface provides a simpler experience.
Yes. Vale’s smart contracts are open source and verified on-chain. Anyone can review the code.
